Photos from Lincoln’s win over Grand Street: The Lincoln Railsplitters trailed with as little as two minutes left in the game, but a 75-yard touchdown pass from Paul Litvak to Luis Rodriguez changed everything as they went on to beat Grand Street Campus 21-18 at Aviator Sports Complex on Friday night.
Luis “Chewy” Rodriguez led the Railsplitters with two touchdowns and 176 yards of total offense including 109 yards receiving. Paul Litvak completed seven of 15 attempts for 157 yards. Backup quarterback Roget O’Neill had the only other touchdown for Lincoln on 42 yards rushing.
Defensively, Alejandro Oregon led the way with two sacks and two tackles for loss. Hensley Ambroise and Najee Baker each had sacks as well and Jordan Nicholson was red hot toward the end of the game when he had a tackle for loss and two tipped passes during Grand Streets final drive.
For Grand Street, Taysir Mack had over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Eugene Qualls picked up most of the rushing yards including one touchdown.
This was a huge game and the first real test that Lincoln has faced this year. Grand Street might not have come away with the victory, but after this game nobody will question if they are an elite team or not as they so clearly are. Grand Street coach Bruce Eugene said after the game that the Wolves plan on facing the Railsplitters again and most of Brooklyn is hoping that he’s right because a rematch of this game would be exciting.
