HIGH SCHOOL GAME OF THE WEEK

WHO: No. 2 Poly Prep (1-0) vs. Peddie School, NJ (1-0)

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: 9216 7th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11228

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Poly Prep had a big statement win when it beat Cardinal Hayes to show that it truly is one of the best, if not the very best, team in New York City and the Blue Devils will look to continue their success against Peddie, a school they beat on the road last season.

Poly Prep is an independant school that is not part of the Public School Athletic League or the Catholic High School Football League so it does not play for a championship. Instead, the Blue Devils play for two reasons — to get its kids into Division I programs and to compete for an undefeated season.

This game will be good for both of those reasons as every game is important when they are trying to be perfect and Poly’s players will continue to show off their skills. Everyone already knows about quarterback Chris Parker and running back Brenden Femiano, but both are still looking for that D-I scholarship and big games like this are a perfect way for the next player to showcase his skills and become a household name.

Just because Poly beat the Peddie School Falcons last season doesn’t guarantee a victory this time around. They have gotten better during each of the past two seasons and are expected to be even better this year with some newly infused talent transferring into the school. They already beat Hightstown, a team they lost to last season, and will look to complete their revenge tour by beating Poly as well.
