For the second year in a row, the Under Armour Elite 24 will return to Brooklyn. The prestigious high school all-star game that features the top 24 prep players in the country will take place on Aug. 23 at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 2. The game will air live on ESPNU at 7:00 p.m.
Isaiah Whitehead put on a show for the hometown crowd last year, but, unfortunately, he will not be apart of the game this year as he is off to Seton Hall University and there will be no other local kid to take his place. This game should still draw a huge crowd even without Whitehead as it has included 40 NBA first-round picks, 24 lottery picks and three first overall picks. These kids will be future NBA stars.
It’s a two-day event starting with a dunk contest, skills contest and three-point contest on Friday, Aug. 22 and then the main event will be played on Saturday, Aug. 23. For the first time in Elite 24 history, there will be a UA NEXT “Rising Stars” game featuring junior high school kids from the tri-state area on Saturday before the main event.
