Since the injury to Brook Lopez, the Brooklyn Nets have really needed somebody to step up and Joe Johnson, who is on a max contract, is the perfect option. The problem is that he has been really bad lately and has averaged just 9.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 35.2 percent over his last five games.
Yes, Johnson has been awful. When it matters most, though, those big shots in the final seconds of games, he is still Cool Joe. Johnson played it perfectly, a cross over and fade away jump shot to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 95-93 on Thursday night. Johnson has now hit six buzzer beaters in his career including four with the Nets, two last year and two this year.
In his career he’s a perfect 6-for-6 in the final 10 seconds of regulation or overtime when his team is trailing by three points or less. That’s clutch. Check the man out in action via The Brooklyn Game.
