Isaiah Whitehead was nominated with 12 other high school basketball players from Brooklyn for the annual McDonald’s All-American Game that will be played on April 2 in Chicago.
Whitehead was hardly the only name chosen from Lincoln as teammates Desi Rodriguez, who is a fellow Seton Hall commit, as well as Elisha Boone and Elijah Davis were nominated as well. Another Seton Hall commit, Khadeen Carrington, was also chosen along with his Bishop Loughlin teammate Michael Williams.
A couple of South Shore players were picked as well — Devyn Wilson and Doudmy Saint Hilaire — Wilson has averaged 20 points and 4.67 rebounds per game in six Public School Athletic League games while Saint Hilaire has averaged 14.83 points and 5.33 rebounds.
Samson Usilo from Nazareth High School was also nominated. Three girls were also nominated from Nazareth including Bianca Cuevas, Yazmine Belk and Jennifer Faye. Khadija Jones, from South Shore, was the other girl nominated. Sierra Calhoun, who plays for Christ the King in Queens, but is from Park Slope, was also nominated.
The rosters, which will consist of 24 players from each the boys and girls teams, will be announced on ESPNU at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 29. You can find the full list of nominees here.
