INJURIES: Brook Lopez is the only player out for the Nets tonight with Deron Williams coming off the bench as he recovers from a sprained ankle. Ronnie Price (foot) and Nikola Vucevic (concussion) are both out for the Magic.

STILL ON THE BENCH: Speaking of D-Will, it’s just the second time as a Net that he has come off the bench (Monday against the Knicks was the first time). Jason Kidd only made up his mind to start Livingston just before game time and he said that he doesn’t know exactly when D-Will will return to the starting lineup and that it was “day-to-day.”

KEEP WINNING: The Nets have won two-in-a-row and seven of their last eight as they seemed to have turned their season around. They are still five games under .500 though and have not swept back-to-back games yet this season.

JESUS JOE: Joe Johnson has been on fire lately. In his last six games, he have averaged 24.5 points with a 51.4 shooting percentage and a 47.2 percentage behind the arc. He’s been especially effective in the first quarter and has scored 67 points in that frame in the last six.

BLATCHING BLATCHE: Andray Blatche has stepped up his play recently too. In his last two games, he’s averaged 19.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists on 63.3 percent shooting.

DEFENSE WINS: The biggest difference in the 2013 Nets and 2014 Nets has been defense. They went from being one of the worst defensive teams (102.4 ppg allowed in 2013) to one of the best (92.5 ppg allowed so far in 2014).

WATCH OUT FOR OLADIPO: Victor Oladipo was especially tough on the Nets the last time they faced him as he had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Quick guards have been tough on the Nets this season, but lately they have done a better job in containing them. How they fair against Oladipo tonight could go a long way in winning this game.
