This is going to become a regular feature on Brooklyn Eagle Sports. Each week I’m going to select the college player of the week and the top five performances. Players will be chosen from both the men’s and women’s local Brooklyn teams regardless of the level at which they play.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jalen Cannon, St. Francis – Cannon is catching fire as he had two double-doubles last week. He started with 19 points and 14 rebounds against LIU Brooklyn on Thursday and followed that up with 25 points and 11 rebounds against Mount St. Mary’s over the weekend.

FIRST TEAM

Michael Megafu, St. Joseph’s Brooklyn – Megafu had 19 points and 10 rebounds against Vassar College. It was his ninth double-double of the season.

Cleandra Roberts, LIU Brooklyn – The Blackbirds dropped a pair last week, but Roberts averaged 24 points with five rebounds and three steals in those games.

Ben Mockford, St. Francis – Mockford is on this list thanks to his 30 point performance where he hit eight threes against LIU Brooklyn. His game against Mount kept him from being Player of the Week though as he was held to just six points in 23 minutes.

Bishop Daniels, ASA College – The Rutgers commit averaged 20.5 points with eight assists, three rebounds and 2.67 steals per game in a couple of Avenger wins.

Colleene Smith, ASA College – In just 20 minutes, Smith scored 22 points with 13 rebounds in a game where the Avengers doubled Essex County’s score 101-49.
