Brook Lopez suffered a sprained ankle way back on Nov. 15 against the Phoenix Suns and while he was out the Brooklyn Nets struggled with a 1-6 record. He finally returned on the Friday after Thanksgiving and, well, Lopez hasn’t exactly been a miracle worker as the Nets have a 1-2 record since his return.
He hasn’t exactly hit his stride yet though as he has averaged just 16 points, four rebounds and one block in 24.6 minutes per game since his return.
At his best, he led the Nets to a victory over the Memphis Grizzlies behind 20 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes. At his worst, he came up short and contributed to a loss against the Nuggets where he made just 3-of-9 shots with only two rebounds and completely disappeared after a strong first quarter.
Obviously there is a bit of rust to shake off, but having Lopez back will be huge for them as the Nets were dominated on the glass and in the paint while he was out. Once he gets back into the swing of things expect him to go back to being the best player on the team.
