A pair of ASA Avengers have now won Player of the Week honors twice this season. Wide receiver Olu Izegwire has now been awarded Offensive Player of the Week twice and Cory Johnson has taken home Defensive Player of the Week honors twice as well after they were both given the awards again this week.

Both players had monster games as the Avengers beat Louisburg College 43-5 at Stony Brook University on Saturday.

On offense, ASA quarterback Aaron Young found Izigwire on four passes, two of them touchdown passes, for 164 yards. He was catching bombs too as his TD receptions were for 75 and 56 yards. Meanwhile, Johnson dominated on defense. He had 10 tackles, two sacks and an amazing seven tackles for loss.

Both players had previously won their respective awards together last month after they led the Avengers to a big 27-0 win over Lackawanna on on Oct. 12.

The two players will hope to lead the Avengers back to glory as they defend their Northeast Football Conference title this Saturday, Nov. 9 against Nassau Community College. Nassau and ASA have developed quite a rivalry as this will be the third time in four  years that the two will battle for the NEFC title.
