ROAD WOES: After a brief one game stop in Brooklyn, the Nets are back on the road where they have struggled with a 1-6 record.

INJURIES: Andrei Kirilenko (back), Brook Lopez (ankle), Deron Williams (ankle) and Jason Terry (knee) are out tonight. For the Timberwolves, Chase Budinger (knee), Shabazz Muhammad (ankle) and Ronny Turiaf (elbow) are out.

KG RETURNS TO MINNESOTA: Keivn Garnett was initially drafted out of high school by the Minnesota Timberwolves way back in 1995. In his 12 years with the Timberwolves, he averaged 19.3 points, 10.7 and 4.2 assists per 36 minutes with an effective field goal percentage of 49.7. He won an MVP award in 2004 when he averaged 22.1 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists per 36 minutes with a 50.2 eFG%.

“It’s always good to come back to Minnesota. The Twin Cities have been like a second home and the fans have been real good to me.”

TOUGH PAINT: The Nets have had +3.3 points in the paint with Brook Lopez, but are -14.7 in the paint without him. That’s going to be trouble against Kevin Love.
