The Brooklyn Nets’ Developmental League team, the Springfield Armor, are holding open tryouts on Sept. 28 in New Jersey and Oct. 20 in Springfield for anyone with $150 who thinks they have a shot at making the team.

Players will tryout in front of the Armor’s coaches and front office executives with a shot at being invited to training camp in Nov. It sounds like a great opportunity too as nine players in the last three years have come to these open tryouts and eventually made the team.

The New Jersey tryouts are held at the PNY Center with check-in starting at 8:00 a.m. and tryouts beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Springfield tryouts will be at the Springfield College Field House located at 263 ALden Street in Springfield, Mass. Same times for check-in and tryouts.

Anyone interested should call the Armor office at 413-746-3263, visit armorhoops.com or email the team at armor@armorhoops.com with the subject line “Player Tryout”. Registration fees are due by Sept. 24 for the Jersey tryout and Oct. 15 for the Mass. tryout. If you are late the fee is bumped to $200.

If anyone reading this decides to tryout, please contact me through the blog as I’d love to hear about your experience.
