The LIU Brooklyn men’s and women’s basketball teams officially announced their respective schedules this week as the men’s team will begin their hunt for an unprecedented fourth consecutive Northeast Conference title on Nov. 9 against St. Peter’s at the Barclays Center. The women’s team will open their schedule on the following day at home against Columbia.

Immediately after the men’s first game they head to Indiana and then California for the 2K Sports Classic. Their first home game at the Steinberg Wellness Center will take place against Norfolk State on Dec. 1.┬áTheir only other tournament they are involved in is the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitation where they will play Temple on Dec. 21 at the Barclays Center.

Meanwhile, the women stay local for the entire month of November as they host seven of their first eight games with the lone exception being their second game of the season against Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. It’s not until Dec. 5 when they go back on the road and that’s another short trip to Philadelphia where they take on Penn State.

The women will get their chance at the Barclays Center as well, but they have to wait longer and only get to play there once. Their first, and only, game there will take place on Jan. 11 against St. Francis Brooklyn. Not only do the men play two tournaments there, but they also play St. Francis Brooklyn at Barclays on Feb. 16.
