Sept. 11

ASA College Women’s Soccer 4, Burlington County College 0: Caroline Sarmiento scored the first goal of the game, Fabiana Alborghetti scored the other three goals, and Ruby Snowden had three assists.

Brooklyn College Women’s Soccer 6, St. Joseph’s 0: Sayla Flores opened the scoring for the Bulldogs followed by a pair of goals by Shan Nakhid-Schuster. Sangam Gurung, Jordan Kerwin, and Bergelie Louis each added goals as well. Karolina Gorna and Kimberly Chacko split time in net for the shutout.

St. Francis Women’s Volleyball 1, Quinnipiac University 3: I’ll call this one a disappointing loss because Quinnipiac won its first match of the season. LIU Brooklyn Women’s Volleyball 3, Cornell 2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-12): It was a back and forth match with each team taking every other set, but the Blackbirds got the first and last set for the win. Annika Foit led with 22 kills and 22 digs, Vera Djuric had 43 assists and 19 digs.

LIU Brooklyn Men’s Soccer 2, Manhattan College 0: The Blackbirds got one goal early, by Nathan Stewart during the 9th minute, another goal late, by Tanner Sica during the 74th minute, and had great goaltending in between as John Connolly recorded a shutout while making six saves during an impressive win.
