Deron Williams was with his family over the weekend celebrating his wife’s birthday. I’m sure they had a blast, but the scary part for Nets fans was that he was at a trampoline park and was putting himself and the team in jeopardy by performing multiple flips and acrobatics while there.

Now this might not seem like a big deal, but you’d better believe that Billy King was not happy with what he saw. First of all, trampolines are dangerous. One quick search on YouTube for trampoline accidents returns literally thousands of results. In fact, at most trampoline parks you have to sign a waiver of liability that says that you are putting your health at risk and homeowners with trampolines in their backyards typically pay more in insurance premiums.

Now, they can be safe with the proper precautions (most of the trampoline accident videos on YouTube usually involve jumping off roofs or too many people jumping at once) it’s not a huge risk. The problem, though, is that freak accidents happen on trampolines all the time. It was barely more than a year ago when Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain seriously injured himself on a trampoline and had to be rushed to the hospital after significant blood loss. It nearly put his career in jeopardy.

On top of this, D-Will is coming off a season where he was severely limited at times because of a bad ankle. Imagine if something happened, he slipped, and suffered a severe setback on the ankle — the Nets season might be over before it even started. The ankle is just one issue here too as he could have easily hurt his neck, back,

I’m sorry, but this is an unnecessary risk for him to take and one I wish he would have avoided. Find something else to do with your kids that doesn’t literally put your career at risk.
